Tips to keep home clean and organized

Cleaning up your home isn't all that hard, as long as you keep in mind a few tips and tricks to help you out. The important thing to remember is that your goal isn't to deep clean every time you make up the mind to keep a clean home. Keeping a clean home requires a routine - it is important to consider what tasks you can carry out regularly in the long run. Rather than the monthly deep cleaning, these small everyday tasks will help you clean and keep your house clean and organized for longer.

1. Make your bed

The moment you get out of your bed, brush off the sheets and tuck them back in. Fold any comforters you were using, and place them at the edge of your bed. Carry this out as soon as you step out of bed, and your room will automatically look cleaner to you. It will take you far less time than when you try to work up the energy later on, when you do it immediately.

2. Wipe table and countertops

Make sure you wipe every visible surface every day. These surfaces accumulate dust and germs very easily, and the last thing you need is an extra danger of allergies. Dust off countertops and tabletops as you go about your day. This will also keep them free of clutter, making your house look even cleaner.

3. Do your laundry on time

Throw your dirty clothes in the laundry as soon as you're free of them. Make sure you run at least one round a day. Alternatively, doing your laundry every other day could also work. The important thing is, you do your laundry regularly, so you don't have a growing mountain of clothes to tackle at the end of the week - this will not only look ugly, but you'll be exhausted thinking about cleaning it before you even begin.

4. Do the dishes on time

It is important not to let your dirty dishes accumulate, as with the laundry. As soon as you're done eating, give your dishes a quick scrub and rinse and leave them out to dry. You don't need to wait for them to dry so you can put them in their designated place - you can always do that the next morning. Washing dishes isn't that hard, as long as you don't wait for them to pile up and be a hassle for you.

5. Keep supplies on hand

Last but not least, make sure your supplies are in a place that is easy to access. It would be helpful if your supplies are where you can see them, so you're reminded of cleaning whenever you see them. Plus, as the saying goes, out of sight, out of mind - if your supplies are tucked somewhere deep inside a cupboard, you might not even bother getting them to clean up.
