Tips for keeping your room clean
There are few better feelings in the world than opening the door to a cleanroom. Contrary to popular belief, keeping your room squeaky clean isn't all that hard - you just need to be consistent with the cleaning. Wondering how? Here is a guide to tips for keeping your room clean!
Tip #1: Make it a routine
The key to having a cleanroom isn't trying to deep clean every single week. The solution is to create a routine for cleaning, so you don't have to tackle a huge pile of trash and unnecessary things every couple of months. Once you make a routine to clean every couple of days, you'll find that your monthly or bi-monthly deep cleaning days are much less tiring than before!
Tip #2: Don't eat in your room
Although lounging in your bed all day and munching on snacks sounds like the ideal state to be in on a day off, it's less than ideal for the overall cleanliness of your room. Make it a habit not to eat in your room - this will automatically lessen the number of crumbs and packaging you'll need to get rid of.
Tip #3: Use storage containers
Storage containers can be pretty useful - when used correctly, of course. The idea is not to hoard as many containers as you can but to utilize every square inch of space within the container. Organize your containers by type so you don't get used to throwing everything within the same box.
Tip #4: Don't treat your room like a storage closet
Keeping and using storage containers in moderation is completely fine. However, it is important to remember that your bedroom is not a storage closet for everything you own or items with sentimental value. Your room needs to be a place you can unwind and relax, and nobody likes sleeping in the closet. Treat it like a place you will enjoy arriving in at the end of a very tiring day.
Tip #5: Keep the tops clutter-free
The topmost surface of your furniture needs to be completely clutter-free. Whatever the insides may host, even if only the top is free from trash and unnecessary items, your room will look much neater. Count the items you use every day without fail, and only keep those items at the top of your vanity and nightstand. These might include lotions, a lamp, medicines, a hairbrush, and perhaps even a book - the point is to only keep the essentials within your arm's reach.
Tip #6: Make your bed
Your bed is a crucial part of your room - keeping it tidy will make your room look monumentally cleaner than ever before. Make your bed the moment you get out of it. All you need to do is straighten out your sheets and brush off any crumbs - it will take you two minutes, max. Change your sheets once every month, twice if they're plain white.
