How to organize your kitchen
About half of cleaning up involves organizing. It doesn't matter how spotless your house is if your cabinets and drawers all have stuff haphazardly thrown in. If you don't have an organizing system for different parts of your home, it will be easier to get it extremely dirty again. Having an organization system means you only need to do half the work: you already know where everything is supposed to go - you just need to put it in the right place.
One of the toughest places to organize is your kitchen. One would think that it's easy enough to organize, but it is extremely difficult to manage because of the sheer amount of things that belong in the kitchen. In that case, here is a guide to organizing your kitchen!
Use plastic containers
Plastic containers have long been revered as one of the most useful organizing tools, and not without good reason. Plastic food containers can divide your leftovers, frozen stuff, kitchen utensils, spices - everything you can think of! They make tidying up extremely easy because you know exactly what item belongs where. To make things easier for yourself, you can even label the containers.
Essentials first
Cooking not only involves the process of making food, but it also includes having everything on hand. You might notice that half the time you spend cooking, you're running around trying to find the appropriate item to use. The solution to that is to keep your essentials at the easiest accessible place - whether it is utensils, spices, or kitchen towels, just make sure they are in your line of sight.
Clear bins for the fridge
To organize your fridge, you need to declutter it. The first step to decluttering is to take out every single item and check whether or not they are expired. Throw out the expired items, and wipe down the tops. Use clear bins to organize your food items into categories - these will ensure that you can easily see which container holds what. You won't waste your time looking for something specific, and you'll know which food goes where without thinking much.
Change up your storage
A lot of the time, people don't even consider their storage systems. They just keep what they have been using and continue using it even if it has proved to be unhelpful. If you find your cabinets constantly running out of space, you might need to reframe your storage. Install cabinet racks to hold up additional items where necessary and organize according to priority.
Compartments for utensils
The utensil drawer is one of the most frequently used and messiest drawers of all. Small plastic compartments are perfect for organizing these utensils. Instead of digging through the drawer for that specific spoon, you can categorize them separately so you can easily reach for what you are looking for.
