Tips for a Spotless house
With these simple methods, you can eliminate the dread you feel each week when it's time to clean. It's all about routines. These routines can be daily, weekly, monthly, or seasonal in nature. Establish an easy-to-follow procedure that expedites cleaning time. Begin small. Choose to begin with daily laundry dumping into the hamper or with a weekly wash of sheets. Routines and timetables are a great way to start.
Involve the Entire Family.
While it is frequently easier to do the job yourself, investing time in teaching your children to perform age-appropriate tasks can benefit both of you in the long term. Begin by encouraging your children to tidy up after themselves – by putting their coats and shoes away as they enter the house, putting dishes in the dishwasher, and cleaning their room – and gradually add in other responsibilities. It's amazing how much impact these small actions can make in terms of overall housekeeping. You'll certainly need to keep a tight eye on your children during the first few weeks, but this will become a habit for them as well, and it should eventually be performed with minimal reminders.
Declutter.
This one may require more effort to implement, but decluttering and organizing your home will significantly reduce the amount of time required to clean. Having a place for everything that is both easily accessible and easy to store makes cleaning up a breeze — for you and your family. Reduced clutter on counters and surface tops reduces dusting and speeds up cleaning.
Each Day, Do One Load of Laundry.
Now, depending on how many loads you generally do per week, you may not need to do this daily, but we definitely go through at least seven loads per week. Make a point of doing one load of laundry first thing in the morning. You can set your washing machine to delay mode (if it has this capability) if you don't have time to dry your clothes before you leave for work. Alternatively, load the machine in the morning and then turn it on when you go home. Make time in your day to finish the load - including putting it away.
Clean as You Go.
This one may seem self-evident, but it is something we frequently overlook. Putting things away as you go takes little time but will make the difference between a tidy and cluttered house at the end of the day. Remove your clothing from the closet and either rehang it or place it directly in the laundry. Load the dishwasher with dirty dishes instead of putting them on the counter. Store your shoes and outerwear as you enter. As a way to ensure that you don't have a messy kitchen when it's time for bed, ask the entire family to help you clean up after supper. All of these small things are simply habits that may be formed with some deliberate planning. Obviously, there will be situations when this is not possible, but do it whenever possible to save yourself a tonne of cleaning!
