Ten things used to keep your house clean
Contrary to popular belief, you don't need a bunch of fancy products to keep your house clean. Most of the items you need to keep your house clean are present in your home already. All you need to know is how to utilize them for the best results. Here are ten things you can use to keep your house clean!
1. Baking soda
Baking soda is used in a ton of different solutions. Mixed with borax and water, it can get rid of basically any grime-ridden area you can think of.
2. Vinegar
Besides cooking, white vinegar is also a useful ingredient for getting rid of accumulated salt. Showerheads tend to get blocked with increased usage because the salt accumulates at the pores. All you need to do is dip the showerhead in a cup of vinegar, scrub it off, and it'll work good as new!
3. Newspaper
This might not be common knowledge, but you can use newspapers to clean any mirror around the house. Water spots and handprints can seem difficult to get rid of, but wet newspaper wipes away any stains you might come across.
4. Dish soap
Dish soap is another solution for stains, particularly for carpets. It doesn't matter whether it's a branded product or regular wholesale dish soap. In any case, scrubbing on dish soap can help get rid of most carpet stains. Mixing dish soap with water can also help you clean up equipment.
5. Rags
It goes without saying that you need to keep two different types of rags. The ones used for wiping won't handle any of the tougher, dirtier areas - they are simply for wiping something clean. On the other hand, the rags for scrubbing will be used for the more intensely muddy areas or tasks.
6. Toothbrush
You might already have a brush for cleaning, but regular cleaning brushes are often too large to remove the grime from smaller crevices or cracks. Toothbrushes are essential for cleaning up the smallest of areas.
7. Storage containers
If you are prone to leaving your stuff lying around, there exists a solution for you: storage containers. They can help you create an organization system that works for you, so you always know what item lies where, instead of mixing them up and looking forever for that specific thing.
8. Spray bottle
Spray bottles work great for solutions. Sometimes, using a solution directly from the bowl can be risky - it can tip over and spill anytime, leaving you with more of a mess. In that case, adding your solution to a spray bottle is safer, and more convenient.
9. Vacuum
Vacuums are the perfect machines for both carpets and floors. Granted, they won't get rid of every single piece of lint, but they clean up rugs pretty well for the most part. You don't even need to do much work with an automatic vacuum.
10. Mop
If you don't have end-to-end carpets, then it is likely that you need more than a regular rag or vacuum to wipe the floor. In that case, a mop specifically set aside for your floor becomes an essential item.
